Data Acquisition

The data acquisition system which will be used is still something not conclusive due to certain factors. The ones currently available at Villanova University aren’t as sufficient and efficient for this project. One of the goals is to purchase our own data acquisition system using the funding which is available. However for considering on pursuing this option, the help of Dr. Alaways and Chris Townsend will be necessary. This is the current stage for the data acquisition system. Where we are trying to figure out whether a new data acquisition system will be purchased for our project and the university or which one we will use if not. All the required inputs for the device will be input to the system. The system will recognize the inputs and collect data which will be specified. For this purpose, an experiment will be designed into the existing data acquisition system software to specify what will be the inputs and what data to collect. This will be done in collaboration with Chris Townsend from the CEER shop.

Requirements:
– Must handle at least 6 voltage inputs
– The voltage will vary in range for the inputs, thus a +-10V would be feasible
– Data collection software compatibility (preferably LabView)

One Current option available at Villanova University:
